art house event management: showcasing 60+ artist spaces

The implementation of public events at the Artopia Art House was initially a self-initiated project. As one of the first studio tenants of the art house, I wanted to help fellow artists and entrepreneurs gain exposure within our local community and grow their businesses. For the launch event, I spent 5 months making it a reality. I worked with property management for external building upgrades (incl. designing the artwork, liaising with print shops, etc.), strategically partnered with start-up value-aligned food and beverage vendors and put together a small team of fellow tenants to help with day-of coordination.

As this was the launch of the art house, as well as the first open house event, I spent time to drive event publicity, develop strategic social media plans and execute traditional media advertising to maximize visibility. This was the initial event that snowballed into quarterly events and continues to this day, now managed by the property management team.

The launch event was a success, with foot traffic over 300 and a feature in Scout Magazine.

brand image & identity

During the ideation stage of planning, I developed a basic Brand Book to serve as a guidepost for the property management team or anyone who would join the art house event team.

This brand book included: logo and colour palette, print and poster guidelines, imagery and styling and a social media feed layout guide and tips for collaborative and joint posting.

This entire project was completed pro bono, as the goal was to bring awareness to all the artists' spaces and build a community from scratch. I am very proud of the work we created and how the art house has grown to this day.
